In the Lord's Service

Fr. Michael Loza is a native of Philadelphia. At the age of 12 he left for Rome where he attended High School at the Ukrainian Pontifical Minor Seminary. He later studied Philosophy at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Rome) under the patronage of Patriarch Josyf Slipyj. Since 1982 he attended Holy Spirit Seminary and St. Paul University (Ottawa), where he completed a Masters of Theology degree.

With the blessing of Bishop Isidore Borecky of Toronto Michael was quietly ordained in 1988 in the underground Church of Ukraine by Metropolitan Volodymyr Sterniuk and Bishop Pavlo Vasylyk.

Together with his wife Oksana, his first pastoral assignment was as associate pastor of St. George’s Ukr. Catholic Church in Oshawa (1988-2001). In 2001 the Lozas were transfered to Oakville to nurture the potential for a vibrant parish community in the Oakville and West Mississauga area.

Fr. Michael is also chaplain of Corpus Christi Catholic High School in Burlington.

Fr. Michael & Oksana Loza live in Glen Abbey (Oakville) with their two adult children, Marianna and Mark.
